According to the U.S. Department of Education, enrollment in technical schools rose from about 9.7 million in 1977 to about 16 million in 2014. The Granite Foundation sees the value in supporting our young talent who wish to follow a course of vocational training:

  • Vocational training equips students with practical experience and technical skills in a specific type of field.
  • Technical schools are more affordable and more efficient, offering certification in two years.
  • Skilled trades are in high demand and point toward growing job markets in our own communities.

Engaging the local business leaders helps broaden the possibilities of keeping bright young talent in the community, which enriches all of us.
