William M. Lawrence, Jr. , born and raised in the Lakes Region of New
Hampshire, is a third generation owner of Bryant & Lawrence Hardware, a
local hardware/country store built in the 1850’s located in downtown Tilton,
N.H. Bill was schooled at Tilton School and St. Lawrence University (no
relation).
As a downtown merchant Bill found it important to be involved
locally, as his parents had done in their tenure, volunteering for numerous
downtown revitalization efforts including the Tilton Main Street Program.
In the last forty years he’s also participated in Tilton’s Planning Board,
Budget Committee, Parks Commission, Trustee of Trust Funds, various school
and park building committees, Rotary, etc.
Being in the retail home
improvement business, Bill sees the need for more qualified tradespeople and
the value they bring to the community.
